No exclusivity and a minimum of just 5 cases per month
We do not require you to purchase all of your After the Event Insurance through us, and we require a minimum of just 5 ATE Insurance policies per month. We appreciate that small firms may struggle to obtain insurance hence the low minimum requirement.

Simple procedure to request ATE Insurance cover
There are no long application forms. All that is needed is very basic client and accident information. You can apply for After the Event Insurance on-line through this website or by supplying an electronic Excel list straight from your case management system. Once accepted, cover runs from the date you requested the policy. |
No Consumer Credit Act agreements
The ATE Premiums are deferred until you recover your costs and are fully funded until paid. Neither your client nor your firm are required to take out a loan or give any undertakings. This means there is no interest to pay. Payment is due when costs are recovered, not before. |

ATE Policies are Flexible with Cancellations Permitted in many Situations
Litigated cases do not always follow the same path. Sometimes something happens during a claim which prevents you from recovering the ATE policy premium. For example, the client may no longer wish to proceed, less than £1,000 damages may be awarded or Before The Event Insurance may be discovered. In these and may other circumstances, you are allowed to cancel the After the Event Insurance even late on during the costs stages of a claim. If the policy is cancelled, there is nothing to pay - no penalty or even interest. |
|
You decide if a case has prospects of success
Prospects need not exceed 50% for the After the Event Insurance to proceed. Our philosophy is that if you are happy to run a case, insurers should be prepared to back you. You no longer have to turn away those cases where prospects might not be as high as you would wish but where you would like to "Give it a go".
|
Minimum reporting requirements
All we need to know is if the case has been won, lost, issued on, or if you wish to cancel the policy. There are no other reporting requirements. You do not have to obtain the After the Event Insurer's permission to issue proceedings, you merely have to tell them that you have done so. These notifications can be in any format and are available on-line. |
|
Low, fixed priced ATE Premiums
ATE Premiums are low and staying that way. They are designed to be demonstrably recoverable without the hassle of Part 8 proceedings being required. Our philosophy is, why delay the receipt of costs any longer than is necessary? |
