After 15 years in business, we have become one of the largest After The Event Insurance (ATE Insurance) suppliers in the country, supplying over 15% of all ATE Insurance policies.
Since creating Box Legal in 2004, we have grown and developed on the back of some core (and let's face it, pretty basic) beliefs:

When we first started out, we were initially taken a little by surprise at the great response we received and the high demand for ATE Insurance. We hadn't fully appreciated at the time how bad things were for solicitors seeking After The Event Insurance cover.
In the early days, we placed some adverts offering ATE Insurance cover in the Law Society Gazette and the response was almost overwhelming. We were booking three meetings a day with new firms wanting to join our ATE Insurance panel.
With many years of experience behind us now, and over 250 firms using our After The Event Insurance, we’d like to think we’re now even better at what we do. However, if you think there are still ways in which we can improve upon our service, we'd love to know.
We are always working with solicitors and companies to develop new ATE Insurance products. A good example of this is the creation of flight delay compensation insurance. This is a relatively new claim type to hit the UK with companies and solicitors having to sue airlines for passenger compensation due under EU law.
We developed an insurance product with Fairplane UK Limited (www.fairplane.co.uk) to cover their clients making flight delay compensation claims. The new product has allowed passengers to claim flight delay compensation without any risk of legal costs. From conception to product, working with Fairplane UK Limited, the ATE insurance product was up and running within 14 days.
We understand that there will be times when you have to make a claim, otherwise there would be no point in taking out ATE insurance. Making a claim is a simple process. It's normally just a matter of completing a very short form. The insurer pays claims within an average of 7 days, and since 2004, we are delighted to say that 97.1% of all claims have been paid by the insurer in full...that’s over £25,000,000 in the last 15 years.
